My teaching philosophy: Nothing is more important to me than education; And education is most effective when the students (and teacher) are having fun. I ensure all the books, songs, and toys I bring to class enhance the lesson and make it more memorable.
My back ground: I have over 12 years’ experience in the class room with students from all ages and abilities. I was a tutor for a middle school where I focused on teaching students to read. I was a substitute teacher in High School, I really enjoyed it too. I was a Museum educator for over 8 years. At the museum I created and taught programs for children and adults focusing on American History. Recently I’ve started teaching English as a second language and I love it!
My Education: I was the first person in my family to go to college and my education means a lot to me. I was able to get two bachelor’s degrees while I was there. I have on in Psychology, with an emphasis on how people learn and a second one in Classics, with an emphasis on ancient history. After college I got a post-graduate certificate in English Education. Just recently I finished my certification program for TEFL.
I am a life-long learner and I hope to instill that love for learning in all my students.
